This past year has been a lot of hard work, and a lot of fun, because of YOU! Thank you, thank you! I sincerely appreciate all the support you have given me! Family, old and new friends, schoolmates, past and present colleagues, church friends, and others, have come forward to support my bid for Superior Court Judge. You have given your time, money, and creativity. You have erected signs, worn t-shirts and buttons, hosted parties, showed up to events, shared my story via social media and other sources, and offered words of encouragement and advice. I am so grateful and fortunate to know so many wonderful people!
I extend a special thank you to my husband, Dr. Larry Stokes. You are my rock. You have graciously taken this journey with me, and have given so much of your time to help me succeed. I also extend a special thank you to Bo Bowen and Curtis Singleton, campaign co-chairs; Ellen Elze, campaign treasurer; and Tania Sammons, Volunteer Coordinator. My campaign committee also deserves special recognition. Thank you Ab Quillian, Bahari Halls, Craig Carter, Debra Geiger, Doretha Walker, Frank King, Ken Boler, Kim Holloway, Lillian Grant-Baptiste, Ron Christopher, Terri Holmes, and Weslyn “Mahogany” Bowers. I couldn’t have done it without you. You all have my heartfelt thanks.
While this campaign is over, my commitment to the community is not. I will continue to be present and engaged. I love Savannah, the Georgia coast, and the state, and I will serve my home in every way that I am able. To that end, I look forward to joining my colleagues on the Superior Court of the Eastern Judicial Circuit. They are among the finest jurists in Georgia, and I am honored to continue serving Chatham County in this new capacity.
